Keith Kerr formed The Development Studio (“TDS”) in 2009 for the purpose of sharing his extensive experience in real estate with a younger generation, and with the vision of creating a ‘boutique’ development company focusing on a range of high quality residential and commercial projects.
Prior to forming TDS, Keith spent 35 years at Swire Properties in Hong Kong, the last 20 years as CEO and Chairman. Projects developed during his tenure include a wide range of residential projects such as Opus Hong Kong and 3 Coombe Road, and prime commercial complexes including Pacific Place, Festival Walk, and the Taikoo Place campus comprising 13 office buildings and culminating in One Island East, which totals 1,500,000 sq ft of floor space. Substantial mixed-use projects initiated in Mainland China during his tenure include Taikoo Hui in Guangzhou, Taikoo Li at San Li Tun in Beijing and HKRI Taikoo Hui in Shanghai’s Puxi district.
In its early years, TDS worked closely with a number of significant partners, including Kerry Properties, Kowloon Development, Hysan Development and Kadoorie Estates, but since 2011 TDS has concentrated on creating its own projects as described in this Memorandum.
Keith Kerr is President of the Real Estate Developers Association of Hong Kong.
