Keith Kerr, formed The Development Studio (“TDS”) in 2009 in order to share his extensive experience in real estate with a younger generation with a vision to create a ‘boutique’ development company focusing on a range of high quality residential and commercial projects.
Prior to forming TDS, he spent 35 years at Swire Properties in Hong Kong, the last 20 years as CEO and Chairman. Projects developed during his tenure were Pacific Place, Festival Walk, the Taikoo Place campus comprising 13 office buildings culminating in the 1,500,000sf One Island East as well as a wide range of residential projects. Substantial mixed-use projects initiated in Mainland China during his tenure include Taikoo Hui in Guangzhou, Taikoo Li at San Li Tun in Beijing (incorporating The Opposite House hotel) and HKRI Taikoo Hui in the Puxi district of Shanghai.
TDS worked closely with a number of significant partners in the early years including The Kuok Group, Kowloon Development, Hysan Development and Kadoorie Estates, but has concentrated on creating it’s own projects as described in this Memorandum since 2011.
He is President of the Real Estate Developers Association of Hong Kong.
Alex Leung, Alex Leung oversees the design, planning, construction, and marketing of residential and commercial developments at TDS. He also participates in sales strategy formulation and investment activities, including deal sourcing and evaluation of potential projects.
Joining TDS in 2010, Alex initially focused on site assembly and redevelopment through master planning of residential and commercial properties. His first completed project was 28 Aberdeen St., a successful residential development featuring innovative design and high-quality finishes.
More recently is the launch of 42 Tung St., an exclusive residential project in Sheung Wan targeting young professionals and couples seeking contemporary, high-quality design in a vibrant neighbourhood. He currently oversees three other residential developments and one commercial project, with two of the upcoming developments on Kennedy Road and Repulse Bay Road slated for an early 2025 launch.
Alex holds a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering and a Master's in International Healthcare Management from Imperial College, London. He has also completed an architectural course on the Constructed Environment from Parsons School of Design, New York.
Arthur Cheng, oversees financial matters including debt financing, loan facilities, financial reporting and legal activities. He is actively involved in investor relations and participates in project evaluation and feasibility studies.
Previously, he worked for Microsoft where he oversaw finance monetisation and yield management for China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. He also worked in finance for Hutchison Global Communications and prior to this, in M&A advisory for KPMG Corporate Finance.
Arthur holds an MBA from Imperial College London and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from University College London.
Winson Cheng, joined The Development Studio in 2014, oversees acquisitions and disposals of all projects, and sales and letting of properties.
He has built a team for market analysis, deal sourcing and structuring, due diligence and formulation of investment proposals.
He has worked on acquiring a diverse range of opportunities varying from residential and commercial sites, either en-bloc or by way of site assembly, and subsequent purchases via the Land (Compulsory Sale for Redevelopment) Ordinance.
Prior to joining TDS, Winson worked at Knight Frank focusing on property valuation, negotiation and arbitration. His competencies were well recognised with the Young Talent Award.
Winson holds a Bachelor of Science in Surveying from The University of Hong Kong and he is a Chartered Surveyor.
