The Development Studio is a real estate developer and investor based in Hong Kong, with a focus on residential and commercial properties. TDS is an investment platform which can undertake both real estate development and investment on its own account and in partnership with other investors on a project- by-project basis.   • Keith Kerr, Chairman

    Keith formed The Development Studio (TDS) in 2009 in order to leverage his deep industry knowledge and network cultivated during his real estate career, and to share his extensive experience with a younger generation with a vision to create a development company focusing on a wide range of high quality residential and commercial projects.

    Prior to forming TDS, he spent 35 years at Swire Properties in Hong Kong, the last 20 years as CEO and Chairman. Projects developed during his tenure were Pacific Place, Festival Walk, the Taikoo Place campus comprising 13 office buildings culminating in the 150,000 m² One Island East as well as a wide range of residential projects. Projects initiated in Mainland China during his tenure include the Taikoo Hui mixed use development in Guangzhou, The Village at SanLiTun in Beijing (incorporating The Opposite House hotel), Indigo in the Jiang Tai area of Beijing and the prime mixed-use joint venture project with Hong Kong Resorts, Da Zhong Li, in the Puxi district of Shanghai.

    He is President of the Real Estate Developers Association of Hong Kong and Non-Executive Chairman of Grosvenor Asia Pacific.

  • Alex Leung, Partner & Head of Projects

    Alex is a partner of TDS and currently heads the project team and oversees the design and planning, project management and construction of all projects. He is involved in sales and marketing and participates in development and investment activities such as deal sourcing and the evaluation of potential projects.

    He has experienced a wide diversity of roles since joining TDS in 2010 varying from site assembly and redevelopment, through the master planning of residential and commercial properties, to the evaluation of real estate company portfolios and the formulation of long-term development strategies of companies such as Hysan Development and The Kadoorie Estates. He has recently completed the redevelopment of 28 Aberdeen St. and is currently overseeing other development projects.

    Alex holds an undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering and a Masters in International Healthcare Management from Imperial College, London.

  • Arthur Cheng, Head of Finance

    Arthur oversees financial matters including debt financing, loan facilities, financial reporting and legal activities. He is actively involved in investor relations and participates in project evaluation and feasibility studies.

    Previously, he worked for Microsoft where he oversaw finance monetisation and yield management for China, Taiwan and Hong Kong. He also worked in finance for Hutchison Global Communications and prior to this, in M&A advisory for KPMG Corporate Finance.

    Arthur holds an MBA from Imperial College London as well as a Masters in Decision Sciences and Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from London School of Economics and University College London respectively.

  • Winson Cheng, Senior Development Manager

    Winson oversees development and investment activities and is responsible for deal sourcing, deal structuring, with shared responsibilities for sales and marketing. He joined TDS in 2014, and has helped build the foundation for market analysis, due diligence and formulation of investment proposals.

    Prior to joining TDS, Winson worked at Knight Frank focusing on property valuation, negotiation and arbitration. His competencies were well recognized with the Young Talent Award.

    Winson holds a Bachelor of Science in Surveying from The University of Hong Kong and is a professional member of The Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors.

  • Kenneth Mui, Assistant Development Manager

    Kenneth joined TDS in 2017. He is tasked with market analysis, deal sourcing, assessing potential development projects and forming investment proposals together with a shared responsibility for sales and marketing.

    Prior to joining TDS, he worked at Cushman & Wakefield focusing on property valuation in Hong Kong.

    Kenneth holds a Bachelor degree in Economics from Macquarie University in Australia and a Master degree in Real Estate from The University College of Estate Management in the UK.

  • Jerry Fung, Senior Architect

    Jerry oversees the design and planning, technical coordination, project administration and management of all projects with shared responsibilities in site evaluation, master planning, feasibility studies and marketing.

    He practiced as a design architect in Wong & Ouyang for 7 years shortly after graduating with Distinction from The University of Hong Kong in Master of Architecture. He is proficient in architectural design and spatial planning of office towers, shopping malls, residential and institutional buildings.

    He was the lead designer for 28 Aberdeen St. and was involved in the design of One and Two Taikoo Place. He has accumulated on site experience throughout these projects.

  • Mickey Ho, Project Manager

    Mickey joined TDS in 2015. She is responsible for project management, cost control and construction quality control for all development projects.

    She has acquired deep industry knowledge and connection while working as a Graduate Trainee and Senior Project Coordinator at Henderson Land and Chinese Estates respectively. She was involved in numerous residential developments and shopping mall renovations during that period. She has recently completed the residential development, 28 Aberdeen St. and is working on other development projects.

    Mickey holds a Bachelor degree in Building Engineering from the City University of Hong Kong.

  • Stephan Spurr, non-Executive Director

    Stephan joined The Development Studio in 2010 with responsibility for the asset management side of the business. After a full-time role for 5 years, he moved to the position of non-Executive Director in 2015.

    Born in Asia (Tokyo) he has worked in the Asia Pacific region for the past 35 years, principally for Swire Properties Ltd. where he was Board Director and General Manager responsible for Island East (the 10 million square feet investment property portfolio comprising Taikoo Place, Cityplaza and Taikoo Shing). His experience has covered every aspect of the real estate industry with a particular focus on strategic marketing, retail and office leasing, as well as asset management in Hong Kong and the PRC. Most recently, he oversaw the marketing, pre-leasing and establishment of Taikoo Hui, Swire’s flagship mixed commercial development in Guangzhou.
